I recently discovered the beautiful surface pattern designs from Bonnie Christine, this has taken me on a journey that I would never had thought was possible, I am now learning all about design using Adobe Illustrator, it has been and still is a huge learning curve, I thought being able to use Photoshop competently it would be an easy transition, but no, not quite. I am in the process of learning all about creating Seamless Repeating Patterns which are used for Surface Pattern Designs. I still have a long way to go, as I have concentrated on the technical process so far more than the creative design. It seems as with most software programmes, there are always more than one way to complete a task. I am big fan of searching You Tube when looking for more information on ‘how to’ however the choice seems to be a little limited and I have joined ‘Skillshare’  for a relatively small monthly fee, about £10.00 and have access to a wealth of capable teachers with all sorts of knowledge. So far the lessons I have learned the most from and seem to return to more frequently are held by Bonnie Christine and Helen Bradley. Be warned though Helen Bradley has an enormous amount of lessons on illustrator and Photoshop, but  I can highly recommend Skillshare as a huge source of knowledge and inspiration.  If you have never tried Skillshare you can find many opportunities to join for free for 2 months with full access to all their lessons, worth a try in my opinion!

Here are just a few of my very first designs, I have a long way to go, but I am enjoying my new journey !
